NEOPETS: Random event from the fountain faerie, when I went to hand in the item the quest was gone!?

you go to the faerie quest to give her the item. it's usually located in pet central, and there is a link near the bottom that says faerie quest. if there is still no quest, I'm guess either a glitch (report using a ticket) or maybe someone place a screenie image on their userlookup (that happened to me once...).
