Can I just buy stuff from random company and start selling it to the public?

I would like to start up small business where I buy stuff from one brand in China and one in New Zealand and start selling it in Europe. I am sure there is some restrictions and rules at international market but is it just that easy - I buy from one and sell to another? And if I dont want to buy for market prices do I just contact the company? thanks for any advice!
