Does fungus need air and how long does it live without it?

Well I'm mostly asking this because of ringworm. People say it does need oxygen to survive and others say it doesnt. So far looking around it seems like its 50/50 so im trying to get the scope on this. Can ringworm die without oxygen? Does fungus need oxygen? If so then how long does it take to die?
