How do I get my new kitten to stop hissing at my dog?

We have a 6 month lab mix, she is the sweetest dog ever. We got a new kitten this weekend. The dog REALLY loves the kitten. She thinks he is her son! She licks him and doesn't take her eyes off of him! She is very curious but would never ever hurt him. She is the most gentle dog ever. The kitten was around a dachshund and a shar pei growing up, so I know it is used to dogs, but he won't stop hissing at my dog. The only time we can restrain him from clawing her nose is when we hold him and hold his little arms down so he doesn't hurt her. All she wants is to love on him and she is very curious about him so we just want them to be able to spend some time together without worrying about our poor dog getting attacked! Any ideas? Thanks!
